Published in 1999 – Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul. The book was a Journalism course’s final project at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul
Last Sunday took me back to 1999, when Sandra Porto and I published the book “A TRAIN TO THE WEST”. This book was a final university project, the first of its kind. The book has an old-fashioned and minimalist look. It is in hard cover and in A3 landscape format.
We aimed to describe a romantic overview of the personages involved on the construction of the railway Noroeste do Brasil. We followed their tracks to discover a hidden story and to unveil the influences that these people brought to the west of Brazil. It was a complex journey to do, travelling with strangers to see old stations and taking photos of abandoned trains.
Anyway, we enjoyed our first adventure as junior journalists.
