Last Sunday I was like a runaway-Claudia. I needed to get downtown Amsterdam to my unique experience of the sidewalk and the catwalk.
The sidewalk being the “Fashion Special” Zalando promoted to get designers and brands exhibiting their products on the local goods market in Amsterdam. I will have to hold on this topic for now as I have lots to tell you about it. I could not possibly start brainstorming yet. I want to tell every story in the same passion way as I was told.
Part I
For now, I tell you briefly about my experience in the catwalk.
The Dennis Diem, who at first got me annoyed to let me waiting for more than thirty minutes, but who blown my mind away with his seductive inspired by the traditional 50’s collection. It was themed on the story of Lilith.
The story goes back before Adam and Eva in Paradise. Lilith was Adam’s first wife. She was also God’s creation, but shaped from earth, unlike Eva who was shaped from Adam’s rib. So this earthy female, immortal, was seductive but determined to not be submissive to male power.
Lilith Of Adam’s first wife, Lilith, it is told (The witch he loved before the gift of Eve,) That, ere the snake’s, her sweet tongue could deceive, And her enchanted hair was the first gold. And still she sits, young while the earth is old, And, subtly of herself contemplative, Draws men to watch the bright net she can weave, Till heart and body and life are in its hold. The rose and poppy are her flowers; for where Is he not found, O Lilith, whom shed scent And soft-shed kisses and soft sleep shall snare? Lo! as that youth’s eyes burned at thine, so went Thy spell through him, and left his straight neck bent, And round his heart one strangling golden hair.
– Dante Gabriel Rossetti 1868
His signature was truth to his presented designs, handcrafted and detailed look with a strong traditional concept. His insights on tradition and fascination for the female form was appealing in each garment.
4. 0 women still need to be spoiled when they have flu. After all, there’s an awfully changing of this and that in our Body-mind-spirit. Something should not change, your confidence and self-esteem. You are the only one knowing how to stand up for Yourself.
There are times, unexpectedly, an awful virus manifests itself. Taking your gorgeousness away. Well, no need to say this is not a text about someone else but me. Leave me alone, cold! The only fever that interests me is the Saturday one on a dance floor, and not that I do that a lot since I turned 40 last year. Talking about that, age. I wonder how other 4.0 women feel. What changes for me is the percentage of vitality if this is how I can put it into words. It’s not 100% anymore! Even maintaining workouts for at least 25 minutes a day. Taking supplements such as Omegas, vitamins, iron, and magnesium and eating a healthy diet.
I can’t help myself to think about Samantha Jones in the SATC movie when she was kept from entering her drugs at the airport and she desperately needs other sources. After all, that movie had some outrageous-glamourous lifestyle, but also was well-thought of woman’s reality.
However, when knocked down by an intrusive bug wanting to take my inspiration away, the solution is getting a magazine therapy. Incredibly, Harper’s Bazar suits better in moments like this. It always has this attention-grabbing and creative cover with smooth content.
As usual, I go through pages for a quick glance. There was it, and the “style” page showcases royalties and their fashion picks.
Starting from 20+ up to 60+. Although I am honoured to fit into 40+ with queen Máxima, I adore Kate Middleton’s fashionability and Princess Beatrix and Caroline of Monaco’s sophistication. Feeling inspired already, this session was worth it.
I believe it is up to me to get stronger and more confident in times of weakness. So I do things that make me happy. Spending time in bed to recover is a beautiful moment to get spoiled by going to fashion shows. This weekend my seat at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Amsterdam is reserved.
This t-shirt, champagne and goodie bag are available for me!
