26 August Kerkrade, Limburg – The days passed so quickly last week while on a short break in Limburg at one of the Fletcher hotels. As wished the weather was brilliantly sunny. The surroundings were wonderful […]
Last Sunday I was like a runaway-Claudia. I needed to get downtown Amsterdam to my unique experience of the sidewalk and the catwalk.
The sidewalk being the “Fashion Special” Zalando promoted to get designers and brands exhibiting their products on the local goods market in Amsterdam. I will have to hold on this topic for now as I have lots to tell you about it. I could not possibly start brainstorming yet. I want to tell every story in the same passion way as I was told.
For now, I tell you briefly about my experience in the catwalk.
The Dennis Diem, who at first got me annoyed to let me waiting for more than thirty minutes, but who blown my mind away with his seductive inspired by the traditional 50’s collection. It was themed on the story of Lilith.
The story goes back before Adam and Eva in Paradise. Lilith was Adam’s first wife. She was also God’s creation, but shaped from earth, unlike Eva who was shaped from Adam’s rib. So this earthy female, immortal, was seductive but determined to not be submissive to male power.
Of Adam’s first wife, Lilith, it is told
(The witch he loved before the gift of Eve,)
That, ere the snake’s, her sweet tongue could deceive,
And her enchanted hair was the first gold.
And still she sits, young while the earth is old,
And, subtly of herself contemplative,
Draws men to watch the bright net she can weave,
Till heart and body and life are in its hold.
The rose and poppy are her flowers; for where
Is he not found, O Lilith, whom shed scent
And soft-shed kisses and soft sleep shall snare?
Lo! as that youth’s eyes burned at thine, so went
Thy spell through him, and left his straight neck bent,
And round his heart one strangling golden hair.
– Dante Gabriel Rossetti 1868
His signature was truth to his presented designs, handcrafted and detailed look with a strong traditional concept. His insights on tradition and fascination for the female form was appealing in each garment.

Great selfie happy Halloween photo! This was caught in a moment of doubt, we heard some sound coming out of that round thing which you would think is the moon, right?
We were a bit unsure if the sound was samba or salsa. Still, we don’t know the answer because we got busy posing for the camera!
I heard that foreigners like to celebrate Halloween, well that is true. At least I love it. It is a great reason for socializing!
Just recently I become a member of Internations there I met wonderful people amongst them great professionals and Experts.
It is clear that we will have to be fluent in Dutch language some day but, when we are all gathered in a cosy place, differing from bars, restaurants or bistros, there is no better joy. The common language is English but there you find all nations, at some point we find ourselves speaking with a fellow from the same country or another willing to share his visiting experience.
For now it is all and if you are new to a country find an expats site like Internations to make you feel you are not alone.
Happy Friday and great weekend. Oh I am writing soon about my first snowboarding attempt.
